It has recently come to light that Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite internet service has received licensing approval for its user terminals from the U.K.’s communications regulator. The green light given to the Starlink broadband system will allow Musk to compete with terrestrial U.K. Internet providers like BT Group Plc and others including Inmarsat Group Holdings, OneWeb, etc.

As reported by Business Insider, users in the UK who signed up for SpaceX’s “Better Than Nothing Beta” test have started receiving the Starlink kit. It costs £439 upfront, plus £84, for a monthly subscription. The authorization was granted to Starlink back in November last year, according to Ofcom spokesman.

For the uninitiated, Starlink is a satellite internet company developed by Elon Musk’s space-exploration company SpaceX. With the help of Starlink, Musk aims to launch 42,000 small satellites in low Earth orbit. These will help transmit fast internet signals to the earth and help provide superfast internet connections across the globe.

Apart from the UK, Greece, Germany, and Australia have also approved the new system. Also, Starlink has already started testing a beta service in North America where the company has launched hundreds of satellites.

There is a new update to this ongoing legal battle between a man trying to save his home in Peachester and the NBN Co.

The appeal has now moved from the Magistrate court to the Supreme Court and a full hearing of the matter will now be scheduled sometime in the middle of the year. There have been a number of legal irregularities in this case that has seen a move of courts. This will be a pivotal case in Australia.

For David to continue his fight he will need financial support.

The NBN tower visible from David Evans’ property (300m away) is emitting microwave energy and causing grievous harm to David and his family. Due to the nature of his occupation (Electrician and a High Voltage Linesman) David has become Electro Hyper Sensitive (EHS). People don’t chose to become EHS because it is a very socially isolating and debilitating condition, as shown in this BBC report: https://www.bbc.com/news/av/stories-51281856/electrosensitivity-i-didn-t-believe-people-had-it-then-it-happened-to-me

Ironically, David moved to this rural location so that he might get some respite from EMF exposure when at home.

Without knowledge or consent, many different communities are being impacted by this form of electromagnetic pollution. Due to these increases, a growing number of people are becoming EHS. The prevalence of this condition is currently estimated to be between 3 to 15 percent of exposed populations. However, personal recognition of the cause, like any allergic reaction, is a slow process as it requires elimination of possible agents.

David is seeking for the courts to establish an injunction on the operation of this tower based on a Peace and Good Behaviour Order. NBN Co. was made aware of his medical condition prior to the construction of this tower but went ahead anyway with the council approval. The tower Development Approval showed that this approval contravened the council own environmental plan for this rural setting, but they gave approval anyway.

By constructing this tower they have knowingly assaulted him.

Please support David financially. Just make a small donation and maybe give up purchasing a $5 cup of coffee to support him. If 50,000 people all donate $5 each he would have his fighting fund.

You can be part of this historical case. Please buy David that cuppa and please spread the word.

Thank you to all for your continued support.

Up to 84% of respondents said they were not prepared to pay the $15 premium operators are proposing for 5G, indicating that telcos need to better communicate the value of the upgrade to consumers, Deloitte says.

Deloitte Partner and National Telecommunications lead Peter Corbett, says 5G is a feature most people simply don’t understand. There was a clear business case for 4G consumers – they wanted faster download speeds to stream content. For now consumers are more focused on a reliable network, rather than a faster one, posing a real challenge for the marketing and adoption of 5G, Corbett says.

“Consumers should prepare to be disappointed with 5G in the short-term, as the network will experience growing pains until it is fully established which will come with small-cell deployments and the auction of mmWave in early 2021.

Excerpt:

Overview:

5th generation (5G) wireless technology, as the name indicates, is the next generation wireless communication network from 4G and 4G LTE. Once fully implemented it will predominantly operate in the millimetre (mm) radiofrequency band which will allow much higher data transfer necessary for driverless vehicles, the Internet of Things (IoT), faster video downloads as well as other applications, including military. The downside of 5G mmWave, however, is that the signals do not penetrate objects readily such as buildings and foliage, in comparison to the lower frequencies. This necessitates a far denser network of 5G small cell antennas which will be mounted on power poles, light poles, street furniture, bus shelters, etc. which in many cases will be close to homes, workplaces and public areas. In some cases internal antennas in buildings will also be used. This will result in higher chronic radiofrequency exposures to humans in these areas. The high number of small cells needed for an effective 5G network is causing community disquiet and that, combined with many scientific unknowns about the possible biological effects of prolonged exposure to mm waves, is resulting in increasing community opposition in Australia and internationally. As community opposition is most likely going to increase as 5G infrastructure continues to be rolled out nationally, the question arises: Is this opposition to 5G warranted or not? (See more at the link)
